Iowa State's external funding hits record $388.2 million in FY 2010
Iowa State attracted a record $388.2 million in grants, contracts, gifts and cooperative agreements during fiscal year 2010, an increase of $83 million and 27 percent over last year's record.

Green house could set example

Thanks to help from Iowa State and others, the town of Corning could become a showcase for sustainable, affordable housing. The town will soon be home to the "Iowa House." Designed by Iowa State architecture and design students in Assistant Professor Nadia Anderson's studio, the 1,080 square-foot, two-bedroom home will be both energy efficient and affordable - a rare combination in rural communities. It's been a cooperative venture of several groups, including the Iowa Housing Finance Authority, the city of Corning, the Iowa Department of Economic Development, the Southwest Iowa Coalition and the Southern Iowa Coalition of Governments.
