Electrical problems spoil day two of Team PrISUms race across the Midwest
Team PrISUm, Iowa State's solar car team, is working overtime to fix the electrical problems slowing its car. The car is now 11th in the 14-car American Solar Challenge, an 1,100-mile race from Broken Arrow, Okla., to Naperville, Ill.

Challenge. The car has shown speed, but the students who
designed and built it are still trying to solve some electrical

Team PrISUm has qualified for the 1,100-mile American Solar Challenge, a June 20-26 race from Tulsa to Chicago for student-designed and student-built solar cars. The team is still working to fix some electrical problems that have slowed the car.

ISU 3-D research drawing interest from doctors, security experts, rock stars
Radio Iowa
Song Zhang, an Iowa State assistant professor of mechanical
engineering, is seeking patents for his 3-D imaging technology.
He's hoping the 3-D images will be able to help doctors
diagnose health problems or security officials identify
suspects through facial recognition. The technology is also
attracting the attention of rock stars.
