Pollard named next athletics director
Jamie Pollard, deputy athletic director at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has been named athletics director at Iowa State, effective Oct. 1. Pollard, 40, joined the athletic department at Wisconsin in May 1998 and has been deputy athletic director since 2003.

ISU President Gregory Geoffroy has been named to the FBI's newly created National Security Higher Education Advisory Board. The board is made up of 16 university presidents and chancellors. "I'm pleased to serve on this new advisory board and to help improve communications and understanding between higher education and the FBI," Geoffroy said. "I applaud Director [Robert] Mueller for reaching out to Iowa State and other universities."

Emergency care seminar for pet owners
