Iowa State University to graduate more than 800 in Aug. 4 ceremony
An estimated 837 students will receive degrees from Iowa State University during its summer commencement ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at Hilton Coliseum. The ceremony is free and open to the public.
Education leadership and policy studies prof researches community college landscape

Cyclone greats return to honor Stevens
Some of the greatest players in Cyclone history returned to Hilton Coliseum July 21 to play ball and raise money for the Barry Stevens Foundation and American Heart Association. Stevens, who is second on the Cyclone scoring list, died from a heart attack in February.

ISU prof provides online predator identification tips in Sex Offender Law Report
Chad Harms, an assistant professor in ISU's Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication, has written a two-part series on the grooming of child victims by sexual online predators for the publication, "Sex Offender Law Report," a newsletter published by the Civic Research Institute. He's also created a system in which online communication can be coded to detect an online predator.

Iowa State awards $1 million for research promoting Iowa economic development
State economic development grants will support 10 Iowa State research projects that could lead to startup companies or develop technology for existing businesses.
