Mouhamad Diallo arrived in Iowa in 2013, moving from his native Senegal to join his father. Though the social adjustments took some time, Mouhamad immediately excelled in the classroom. When he got to Iowa State, he couldn't decide whether to major in materials engineering or mechanical engineering, so he majored in both. He became involved in research, and won a prestigious Goldwater Scholarship. After graduation, Mouhamad will pursue his PhD in sustainable energy.
