The walls of Gold Star Hall capture a history of service from ISU students
Nov 11, 2020
After World War I, Iowa State staff, alumni, and students came together around the idea of building a Student Union as a monument to the memory of those Iowa Staters who made the ultimate sacrifice. The building would include Gold Star Hall, a memorial at its heart that could honor Iowa State students in all subsequent military conflicts. Each year during the week of Veteran’s Day, several of those whose names are etched into the walls of Gold Star Hall are remembered at the Gold Star Hall ceremony. In this way they will forever be a living part of Iowa State University. Narrated by Steve Winfrey.
