Iowa State fashion illustration students recently designed new usher uniforms for the newly re-built Hancher Auditorium at the University of Iowa. And to get the jackets made, ISU senior lecturer Brenda Ackerman turned to the offenders at the Iowa Correctional Facility for Women in Mitchellville. With Ackerman overseeing their work, the women are cutting and stitching 200 wool blazers. The offenders say they are very proud to be part of such a unique collaboration.
