Grad student Brittany Whitehead is dedicated to service

For Brittany Whitehead, there was always a history of public service in her family. Several members of her family served in the military, which Whitehead says was a major influence on her. So it was only natural that she joined the military as well. Her time in the military has also brought her closer to the soldiers she works with on a daily basis. Whitehead says she wants to do anything she can to help her fellow military members, which is why she took to completing her work in Family Financial Planning, despite still being deployed all over the country, and at times, all over the world. The program at Iowa State allowed her to continue her education from everywhere, whether it was South Carolina or Syria. She's excited to continue her time in the military, with the goal of helping her fellow military members become more financially literate and help navigate military benefits.
