ISU ANNOUNCES NEW PROVOSTAMES, Iowa -- Rollin C. Richmond, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at the State University of New York-Stony Brook, has been named provost at Iowa State University. The appointment is effective Sept. 15.
"Rollin Richmond has an outstanding background as both a professor in the biological sciences and as a university administrator. He will be a valuable asset to Iowa State as we pursue our goal of being the best land grant university in the country," said Martin Jischke, ISU president.
The provost is the chief academic officer of the university and oversees the university's eight colleges, ISU Extension and various research units.
