ISU ROAD SCHOLARS TOUR TO VISIT NORTH CENTRAL IOWA APRIL 3- 4AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State University President Martin Jischke will lead a group of new ISU faculty and staff on a two-day Road Scholars tour of north central Iowa, April 3-4.
The purpose of the Road Scholars tour is to introduce new faculty and staff to the state of Iowa. The tour group travels the state by bus, visiting schools, businesses and farms. Tour stops will include Story City, Webster City, Fort Dodge, Manson, Storm Lake, Spencer, Okoboji, Emmetsburg, Humboldt and Belmond.

Attached is the itinerary for the north central Iowa Road Scholars tour. You are welcome to join the group at any point during the tour. The schedule is tight. If you would like to interview members of the tour group, you may want to do so while riding the tour bus for a short distance. John Anderson, associate director of ISU University Relations, will accompany President Jischke on the tour. He can assist you in meeting tour members or making other arrangements. 7:30 a.m. Depart Iowa State from the fountain side of the Memorial Union.
Saturday, April 47:55 a.m. Arrive in Story City, coffee with local development leaders; Cottage on Broad, 410 Broad St.
9:30 a.m. Arrive in Webster City. Short Tour of Webster City High School, open discussion.
11:15 a.m. Arrive in Fort Dodge. Visit Farm Egg Products, 2088 120th St.
12:40 p.m. Arrive in Manson. Lunch at Twin Lakes Christian Center, Hwy 3.
2:30 p.m. Arrive in Storm lake. Tour Buena Vista University, 6100 Fourth St.
4:15 p.m. Arrive in Spencer. Tour Great Lakes Airline.
6 p.m. Alumni Reception, Iron Horse Inn.
7:50 a.m. Breakfast at Village East, Okoboji.
9:10 a.m. Tour of Water Quality Lab, Lakeside Lab.
10:45 a.m. Arrive in Emmetsburg. Visit Iowa Lakes Community College.
12:45 p.m. Arrive in Humboldt. Visit Larry and Marlys Lane farm, 2581 Kansas Ave., for lunch and tour.
2:45 p.m. Arrive in Belmond. Tour through the Belmond Klemme High School Auditorium. Visit the garden show in Belmond sponsored by Wright County Extension.
5 p.m. Arrive in Ames.
