CONFERENCE ON ROAD SAFETY AT ISUAMES, Iowa -- The Center for Transportation Research and Education (CTRE) in Iowa State University's Research Park will host Iowa's first Access Management Conference May 7-8 at the Gateway Holiday Inn in Ames.
Access management involves managing how, where and when vehicles can turn onto or off of a road. Nearly half of all traffic accidents are access related. Access managed roads decrease the average number of accidents because they operate better and provide motorists with less delay and congestion.
The conference will offer training sessions by CTRE and national experts. The presentations will emphasize the impacts and benefits of access management, the best access management practices, how to market access management and how to involve the public.
For more information about the conference or for a registration brochure, contact CTRE at (515) 294-8103.
