CANDIDATES FOR DIRECTOR OF ISU WOMEN'S CENTER ANNOUNCEDAMES, Iowa -- Three candidates have been chosen for the director of Iowa State University's Margaret Sloss Women's Center.
The three are Lisa Enloe, interim director of the center; Alison Rutledge, a psychologist with Southwest Iowa Mental Health Center, Atlantic; and Pamela Sue Thomas, assistant dean of students and director of multicultural affairs, Kenyon College, Gambier, Ohio.
The three candidates will meet the campus community during open forums. In addition, open forums especially for students are scheduled. The schedule for the forums is as follows.

Sloss HouseThe center director provides advocacy, referral services and programming for the ISU community, and coordinates women's programs and celebrations.
Celia Naylor-Ojurongbe, director of the Women's Center July 1993 to July 1997, moved to Albuquerque, N.M., where she is completing on her doctoral dissertation in history from Duke University, Durham, N.C.
Rutledge
Rutledge has been a psychologist at the Southwest Iowa Mental Health Center, Atlantic, since 1988. At the center, Rutledge works in outpatient services and acute inpatient services. Her responsibilities include psychotherapy for individuals, couples, families and groups; psychological testing, and education. Rutledge also was a psychology instructor at Iowa Western Community College, Council Bluffs, from 1994 to 1995.
Rutledge received a B.A. in social services from the University of Oregon, Eugene, in 1969; an M.S. in community mental health from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, in 1975; and a Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque.
Enloe
Enloe has been interim director of the ISU Women's Center since July 1997. Prior to this, she worked for the Center for Creative Justice in Ames since 1994, serving as a corrections coordinator and a mediation coordinator. She also is a sociology instructor at Grandview College, Des Moines. She also worked for many years as a family counselor at the Center for Personal Development in Ames. Enloe received a B.A. in sociology from Illinois State University, Normal, in 1982, and an M.S. in sociology from Iowa State in 1986.
Thomas
Thomas has been assistant dean of students and director of multicultural affairs at Kenyon College since 1995. Her responsibilities include encouraging student involvement on campus and in community service; assisting retention efforts; increasing awareness of diversity issues, and maintaining cultural education programs. Prior to this, Thomas was coordinator of multicultural student support at Central College, Pella, from 1993 to 1995; adjunct faculty member in sociology/anthropology at Central College from 1991 to 1995; and a workshop facilitator for community career planning center for women at Drake University, Des Moines, from 1985 to 1986. Thomas received a B.A. in history from Central College in 1976, and an M.S. in public administration from Drake University in 1990.
