UPDATE: ONE STUDENT REMAINS HOSPITALIZED;
ISU SOLAR CAR ARRIVES HOME FRIDAY NIGHT
AMES, Iowa -- One Iowa State University student remains hospitalized in Topeka, Kan., with injuries suffered in the April 29th solar car accident.
Andrew Earhart is listed in fair condition at Stormont Vail Regional Medical Center.
Brian Galvin and Karla Abrahamson were released Friday, May 2, and are now at home. Iowa State made arrangements to transport the students and their parents to their respective homes. Galvin is from Galva and Abrahamson lives near Minneapolis.
Meanwhile, the solar car ExCYtor is due to arrive at Iowa State at approximately 6:15 p.m. Friday. The car is being brought back by Mike Garrison of Topeka. Garrison heard of the ISU accident and offered to bring the car back to Ames in his trailer. A Winnebago used by the students will be driven back to Ames by a chauffeur.
Except for Earhart, all members of the ISU solar car team are back at ISU or their hometowns.
