ADVISORY: BISSELL ROAD TO BE CLOSED SATURDAY, JULY 19

AMES, Iowa -- Bissell Road on the west side of the Iowa State University campus will be closed from 8 a.m. to approximately 4 p.m. Saturday, July 19. Emergency vehicles will be allowed access. The road closure is needed to complete an asphalt resurfacing project on schedule Saturday.

Bissell Road, a north-south leg between Union Drive and Pammel Drive, will get a new 3-inch overlay of asphalt. Preparation work was completed Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Due to equipment problems, the resurfacing couldn't begin today (July 18) as planned.

ISU officials recommend that north-south traffic use Sheldon Avenue, one block to the west of Bissell. Osborn Drive and central campus still will be accessible via Wallace Road on the east side of campus.
