STIEGLITZ NAMED ISU ART AND DESIGN CHAIR
AMES, Iowa -- Mary Stieglitz, professor and former chair of the art department at Boise State University, Idaho, has been named chair of the department of art and design at Iowa State University's College of Design.
Stieglitz will begin her new position at Iowa State on July 1. Stieglitz has an extensive background in photography and her work has been displayed in museums, exhibitions and permanent collections worldwide.
She received a B.S. in art and art education from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee; an M.A.T. in fine arts and art history from Indiana University, Bloomington; and a Ph.D. in arts curriculum and instruction from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She also has taught and held administrative positions at the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point, and the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.
Nancy Polster, who has served as art and design chair since 1990, will return to the faculty.
