BLAEDEL NAMED INTERIM DIRECTOR OF ISU STUDENT HEALTH

AMES, Iowa -- Dr. Mark E. Blaedel has been named interim director of Iowa State University's Student Health Center.

Blaedel will serve as interim director until a successor for former director Dr. Robert Patterson, who recently retired, is appointed.

Blaedel has been a staff physician at the ISU Student Health Center since 1994. Prior to this, Blaedel held several positions at military medical facilities at Fort Sam Houston, Texas; Fort Bragg , N.C.; Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center, Aurora, Colo; and Fort Polk, Louis. Blaedel specializes adolescent medicine.

He received a B.S. in molecular biology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and a medical degree from the University of Iowa, Iowa City.
