ISU SETS PUBLIC FORUMS TO DISCUSS PARKING REPORTAMES, Iowa -- Members of the Iowa State community are invited to attend one of two public forums scheduled next week to learn more about a parking survey and report completed earlier this month.
Rick Rich and Dave Barr, the consultants from Rich and Associates, Southfield, Mich., who completed the report, will be on campus Thursday, March 21, and Friday, March 22, to present their study and field questions about their methodology, options available to Iowa State and their recommendations. ISU representatives also will be on hand to help answer questions.
Thursday's forum will begin at 7 p.m. in room 1414 of the Molecular Biology building. Friday's forum will begin at noon in the auditorium (room 127) of Curtiss Hall.
The Rich report reviewed the following options: make no changes, construct additional surface lots, build a parking ramp and improve shuttle service from lots at the Iowa State Center to free space on campus for short-term parking for students and visitors. ISU officials have made no decisions about what direction they will take to ease the parking shortage on campus. The forums are one way officials will solicit input from the campus community.
