ISU PROFESSOR NAMED PRESIDENT OF NATIONAL CROPS SOCIETY
AMES, Iowa Iowa State University agronomy Professor Ken Moore has been named president of the Crop Science Society of America (CSSA) for 2003-04.
Moore took office at CSSA's recent annual meeting, which was held in conjunction meetings of with the American Society of Agronomy (ASA) and Soil Science Society of America (SSSA).
Moore joined the Iowa State agronomy faculty as professor of crop production and physiology in 1993. His research involves identifying factors that limit the nutritive value of forages and the development of systems for improved use of forages. He worked on collaborative research and education projects in Morocco, Costa Rica and New Zealand, where he was a senior research fellow with AgResearch Grasslands. Moore is a fellow of CSSA and ASA.
ASA, CSSA and SSSA are educational organizations helping more than 11,000 members advance the disciplines and practices of agronomy, crop and soil sciences by supporting professional growth and science policy initiatives and by providing quality, research-based publications and a variety of member services.
