CATT CENTER SILENT AUCTION FEATURES POLITICAL ITEMS, EVENT PACKAGES

AMES, Iowa -- As part of its 10th anniversary fund raising efforts, the Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics at Iowa State University is offering more than 40 items in a silent auction.

The items range from political memorabilia from state and national lawmakers and officials to Iowa State athletic event tickets. Auction items, guidelines and bidding information are on the Catt Center's Web site, http://www.public.iastate.edu/~cccatt/.

Bidding forms may be downloaded from the Web or faxed to you by calling (515) 294-3181. Completed forms are to be faxed to (515) 294-3741.

Auction items include: An original pencil drawing, "Washington Spring," by U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein of California; a Republican elephant mug from the personal collection of Mary Louise Smith; numerous autographed books; a dinner for six prepared by Kathy Geoffroy and hosted by Iowa State President Gregory and Kathy Geoffroy at The Knoll; an Isabel Bloom garden angel sculpture; an original oil painting of Catt Hall by Iowa artist Michael Stohlmeyer; and two season tickets to the Iowa State women's basketball games

Special Note: Bidding will end Oct. 8 for a football-and-more package, which includes two tickets to each of the Cyclone football games against Texas Tech, Missouri and Connecticut.
