The program includes approximately 140 professionals who are selected to serve in the architect selection and design review processes for government buildings. The collaborative process has had a major impact on the quality of civic architecture and public space throughout the United States. Lewis, who was named department chair in 2000, is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He has received 15 national awards for design excellence, including three National AIA Honor Awards.
