This talk will focus on how Klose coordinated U.S.-funded international broadcasting operations (Voice of America, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Radio Free Asia, Radio/TV Marti, and Worldnet Television) to save money and modernize operations in post-Cold War era.

All open forums are free and open to the public.

He will talk on "NPR -- Your 'Sound' Business Partner," at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, in the Arthur Davis Conference Room, The Partnership Building, 700 Locust St., Suite 100, Des Moines. This event is co-hosted by WOI Radio Group and The Greater Des Moines Partnership and is free and open to the public. However, The Partnership requests an RSVP by FAX to (515) 286-4974 or e-mail to skeeling@desmoinesmetro.com.

He also served as president of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and is founder of the Intermedia Survey Institute of Washington, a non-profit research firm specializing in media and opinion survey in Eurasia.
