FORMER BLACK PANTHER SEALE TO SPEAK AT IOWA STATE
AMES, Iowa -- Former Black Panther Bobby Seale will speak on "Activism Then and Now" at Iowa State University on Tuesday, Jan. 22.
Seale will speak at 8 p.m. in the Sun Room of the Memorial Union. His talk is free and open to the public.
Seale, former director of the Black Panthers, will speak about how civil-rights issues are interconnected with environmental problems and global economics. Seale advocates greater direct community democracy, including cyber-space activism. His books include "Seize the Time: The Story of the Black Panther Party and Huey P. Newton" and "A Lonely Rage: The Autobiography of Bobby Seale."
