CARTER NAMED PRESIDENT OF ISU RESEARCH PARK CORPORATION
AMES, Iowa -- Steve Carter has been named president of the ISU Research Park Corporation.
Carter has been interim president of the ISU Research Park since September 2000. The permanent appointment was effective Feb. 1.
"We are very pleased about this appointment. Steve Carter has done a tremendous job as interim president, and we are confident that he will continue to manage the Research Park very effectively," said James Bloedel, vice provost for research.
Carter will continue to serve as director of the ISU Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship, a position he has held since 1998. He also is former director of the ISU Office of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC).
The ISU Pappajohn Center and the ISU SBDC are housed in the Research Park. The Research Park also is home to the Iowa State Innovation System (ISIS). These three organizations are part of an integrated business development resource for Research Park tenants and others.
The ISU Research Park is a 230-acre development with more than 270,000 sq. ft. of building space. It is located south of the Iowa State campus.
