Robert Cogdill, Ames; Anthony Shane Ridgeway, What Cheer; and Pamela Schipull, Northwood, were awarded Fulbright Grants for Graduate Study and Research Abroad for the 2002-03 academic year. This prestigious program annually provides 800 opportunities for students to study and research in the country of their choice for one academic year. Cogdill, will conduct research at a French laboratory on imaging technology with medical applications. Cogdill received an M.A. in agricultural engineering from Iowa State and is now working on a Ph.D. in the same program. Ridgeway will work with a research group at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. He will work on redesigning a microscale medical drug delivery pump and on fabricating and testing a second generation pump. Ridgway is working toward an M.S. in mechanical engineering. Schipull, a graduating senior and student in Iowa State's Honors Program, is only the second graduating senior at Iowa State to receive a Fulbright award.
