ISU TO DEDICATE REMODELED STUDENT SERVICES BUILDING
AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State University's newly remodeled Student Services Building will be dedicated on Wednesday, Oct. 31, at 12:15 p.m.
The dedication will be on the plaza in front of the building. Speakers will include ISU President Gregory Geoffroy; Vice President for Student Affairs Tom Hill; Graduate Student Senate President Debbie Martinez; and Government of the Student Body President Andy Tofilon.
The event will be built around a circus theme, complete with clowns. Tours and refreshments in the building will be from noon to 2 p.m. Students will be have the opportunity to win prizes at the event, including a $100 University Bookstore gift certificate.
The Student Service Building houses the Dean of Students Office, Academic Success Center, Minority Student Affairs, Student Support Services Program, Admissions (Telestar Program), Student Counseling Center and Educational Talent Search.
The building formerly housed the Student Health Center, and was remodeled after the center moved into a separate facility.
Also on Oct. 31, the Student Counseling Service will host their semi-annual Career Open House from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Students are encouraged to visit the Career Exploration Library on the third floor.
The dedication of part of Iowa State's event is part of the all-university celebration "Challenging Students to become their best".
