CHIDISTER APPOINTED ASSISTANT TO ISU PRESIDENT
AMES, Iowa -- Mark Chidister, associate dean in Iowa State University's College of Design and associate professor of landscape architecture, has been appointed assistant to the ISU president for budget planning and analysis. The appointment is effective June 1.
As assistant to the president, Chidister will coordinate and monitor budget issues, university-wide strategic planning, and university submissions and responses to the Board of Regents, State of Iowa. He also will prepare monthly reports for the office of the president.
Chidister joined the Iowa State faculty in 1981, and was named associate dean for academic affairs in the College of Design in 1995. As associate dean, he has been responsible for the college's budget, learning communities and study abroad program in Rome. He earned a B.S. in landscape architecture from Ball State University, Muncie, Ind., in 1977 and an M.S. in landscape architecture from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1981.
Chidister succeeds Rab Mukerjea, who recently left Iowa State for a similar position at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind.
