Carter joined the Iowa State faculty in 1986. His research focuses on the reputation and activities of investment banks in the capital acquisition process, including recent developments in electronic markets. He is a member of the American Finance Association, the Western Finance Association, the Financial Management Association and the Southern Finance Association. "Dr. Carter is a nationally-recognized scholar in the finance area and is a highly effective teacher," said Benjamin Allen, dean of the College of Business. "His leadership will be invaluable."
