ISU MIS CLUB TO MENTOR SCIENCE BOUND STUDENTS ON WEB PAGE CREATION AND DESIGN FEBRUARY 24
AMES, Iowa Science Bound high school students will learn about web page creation and design at a Saturday, Feb. 24, workshop hosted by Iowa State University's Management Information Systems (MIS) Club.
The workshop will be from 9 a.m. to noon in room 44 Carver Hall on the ISU campus. About 50 ninth and tenth grade students will attend.
The Iowa State MIS Club is a student organization in the College of Business. Club members will also introduce Science Bound students to careers in the field and the university's MIS program.
Science Bound is a program designed to increase the involvement of ethnic minority students from Des Moines public schools in science and math. Students selected for the project are eighth graders to high school aged students whose standardized test scores or teacher recommendations indicate an ability to achieve in math and science, but whose grades may not reflect that ability.
