Cargill representatives will make classroom presentations, host an evening information session on the company's recent e-commerce investments and explore new partnership opportunities. Cargill also is sponsoring the JobDirect Job Drive, a mobile career fair for Iowa State students from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. near the Memorial Union. Cargill is one of the university's most active partners. During the last four years, Cargill has contributed more than $600,000 to Iowa State for study abroad programs, internships, scholarships and curriculum resources such as the Computer Based Tutorial (CBT) program in the College of Business. "Cargill's investment in the CBT program has served as the catalytic agent in providing additional avenues for student and faculty to learn about information technology and other areas," said Benjamin Allen, dean of the College of Business. Iowa State is one of 18 colleges and universities to receive funding through Cargill's Higher Education Initiative, which aims to build mutually beneficial relationships with key schools. "Iowa State University is proud to be among the first schools selected for Cargill's Higher Education Initiative," said Tom Mitchell, ISU Foundation president. "Cargill's commitment to higher education and Iowa State has provided numerous educational and research opportunities for students and faculty in agriculture, business, engineering and liberal arts and sciences." Since 1995, Cargill has tripled the number of students it hires from ISU. This year, ISU ranks first among Cargill's top 15 schools for recruitment with 77 total hires, 44 percent above the second-ranked school. "Iowa State continues to be a tremendous resource for recruiting high potential graduates who can adapt to the demands of today's business environment," said Dave Raisbeck, Cargill vice chairman. "Cargill is pleased to continue and build upon this important partnership." Raisbeck, an ISU alumnus, leads the advisory committee that oversees Cargill's partnership with the university. Cargill is an international marketer, processor and distributor of agricultural, food, financial and industrial products and services with approximately 82,000 employees in 60 countries. The company provides distinctive customer solutions in supply chain management, food applications and health and nutrition.
