Terry Branstads commitment to education. "In the spirit of Governor Branstads dedication to our state, ISU is committed to helping Branstad scholars become Iowas best teachers teachers who are leaders committed to excellence and to model citizenship in their professions, schools, communities and the state," said Walter Gmelch, dean of the College of Education. The Branstad Scholarship in Education is a four-year, tuition and fees scholarship given annually to an incoming Iowa resident freshman the College of Education. The scholarship will be awarded based on academic achievements, enthusiasm for teaching, commitment to teaching in Iowa, involvement in extra-curricular activities and promise of leadership ability. Recipients must be full-time students and maintain a 3.0 grade point average. Applications are due Feb. 25.
