Vilsack will speak briefly and take questions from the audience during the 4 p.m. public meeting in the Campanile Room, Memorial Union. A reception will follow. Vilsack received a B.A. in English from Kirkland College in Clinton, New York, where she met her husband, Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack. She taught eighth-grade language arts for 18 years, and then English and journalism at Iowa Wesleyan College for six years. She is an advocate for education, literacy and libraries. -30- |
