AMES, Iowa – C-SPAN is bringing its interactive, multimedia bus to Iowa State University on Thursday, Feb. 20, as part of its Big 12 campus tour. Students, faculty and staff are invited to tour the bus from 10:30 a.m. to noon. It will be parked on Union Drive, north of the Memorial Union.
The C-SPAN Bus is equipped with HD-TVs, touch screen computers, laptops, and mobile devices that visitors can use to check out more than 200,000 hours of archived video and take interactive quizzes about the political process. It was recently outfitted with two HD cameras and production equipment giving C-SPAN the capability to do programming aboard the bus during major festival and events.
A group of Iowa State students will also participate in a roundtable discussion that morning on C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal.” The segment is scheduled to air from 7:30-8:15 a.m. Video of the segment will be available after the broadcast at http://series.c-span.org/Journal/.
