Iowa State celebrates undergraduate research projects at symposium

AMES, Iowa -- Undergraduate students who are involved in research projects will showcase their work at a symposium sponsored by the University Honors Program from 8 a.m. to noon, April 11, in the Pioneer Room, Memorial Union. The event is free and open to the public.

The inaugural symposium will feature 40 students from all of the university's colleges.

Iowa State has never had a university-wide research symposium, said organizer Barry Falk, and organizers are excited about the prospects.

"We think this platform to share the research our undergrads are doing -- with both the university and the community -- is a fantastic idea," he said. "Both the high-quality work and the students should be celebrated."

Although the Honors Program is organizing the event, all students were welcome to take part.
