AMES, Iowa -- Author, speaker and winner of the 50th Women's National Book Association Award for her contribution to the world of books, Nancy Pearl will give her presentation "Book Lusting: The Pleasures and Perils of a Life of Reading" at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 19 in the Sun Room, Memorial Union. The event is free and open to the public.
Pearl, who wrote the best selling "Book Lust" as well as other books about the pleasure of reading, is a regular contributor to National Public Radio's Morning Edition and other NPR affiliate stations. She has a monthly television program in Seattle called "Book Lust with Nancy Pearl."
The former executive director for the Washington Center for the Book is a former librarian who has a growing national reputation for encouraging reading and for recommending books.
